About the Event
Modiši wa go botega—translated as “a reliable shepherd” or “a good steward”—is a new exhibition exploring themes of care, responsibility, and the human relationship to land and community. Rooted in the artist’s rural Limpopo upbringing and informed by narratives of young herders and respected community figures, the exhibition presents stewardship as both a practical ethic and a vulnerable role.
Working across bronze, charcoal, photography, geological matter, and found materials, the artist creates installations that evoke endurance, erosion, and transformation. These material processes mirror social and environmental cycles, suggesting how memory and adaptation shape collective life over time.
Hosted at Constitution Hill, a space that is more than a heritage site; it is a creative landmark and home to the Creative Uprising Hub—providing a sustainable platform for artists, designers, and entrepreneurs to build the creative economy.
